Contacts for School & District Buildings Update
As we continue to operate our schools during distance learning, we want to remind you that we are available to answer your questions. The order of triage for questions is listed below:
Classroom based questions should first be directed towards the teacher.
If the question is a building level concern then please email the appropriate school administrator.
District level questions can be directed to the appropriate district phone number or emailed to the respective office.
If any parent of a student with an IEP, 504, ELL or other concern have any questions about student assignments, services, or support, please contact the Office of Student Services and Support at bwrsdstudentsupport@bwrsd.org
If you need to contact me, please feel free to email me at jonathan.brice@bwrsd.org any time you have a question.
Special Education Virtual Meetings
Special educators have begun scheduling and holding virtual IEP meetings and posting special education documents on the parent portal of Aspen. Proposed IEPs, progress reports, and other documents will be available for your viewing over the next couple of weeks. Instructions on how to access these documents will be provided to you within the next few days.
Transition Activities for Elementary and Middle School Students
All BWRSD school staff are concerned about our students transitioning from elementary to middle school and from middle school to high school. Just like our tentative efforts for our graduating seniors, BWRSD will work to develop options so that our students still have an opportunity to interact with their next year’s teachers and administrators, as well as engaging in face to face activities and site visits to the extent it is possible later this spring or summer. We will share possible options next week.
BWRSD Online Tech Support for Families
Having issues with your student’s device or while working on certain applications online? Please send an email to our Technology Helpdesk at BWRSDTech@BWRSD.org for support during this time of Distance Learning. The email account is accessible 24 hours per day, and you can expect a response within 1 school day.
The most common issue for not being able to access apps such as STEMscopes is that students may not be going in through CLEVER, our single sign-on platform, or that families need to have students login to the Chrome browser with their BWRSD credentials. Here are directions.
Meal Distribution
BWRSD Meal Distribution locations are Colt Andrews School, Kickemuit Middle School, and Hope & Main. All Locations are open from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Beginning Friday, April 17, 2020, students will receive their regular meal for Fridays and then be given two (2) breakfasts and two (2) lunches for the weekend.
As a reminder, there is no Distance Learning for students this Friday, April 17th. Staff will use this time to work with colleagues on distance learning lessons.
Sincerely,
Jonathan T. Brice, Ed.D.
