Testing, testing...
FAY Status: Not just for Trackers
Testing season is upon us! Updating your list of FAY students in the Participating Program field of the Omnibus will not only allow you to filter to those students on your Academic Trackers, it will also flag those students as FAY in Testing Nirvana. Talk about working smarter, not harder!

Speaking of Testing...
MOY is wrapping up! NWEA is done, and STAR is not far behind. GROWTH has been our focus in SY1920, so be sure to check out the the Growth sections on the Assessment Dashboard and the Student Detail files.

Did you know
there is a day dedicated to celebrating the mathematical sign pi or π? Yes, this is a thing!
March 14th, is known around the world as Pi Day. (It's also Albert Einstein's birthday.)
"But I'm not really a math person", you say? Doesn't matter. There is no escaping pi; it's everywhere. But you don't have to take my word for it.

Don't care so much about the math, but now you can't stop thinking about pi(e)? This is for you.
New OLS & D2L Tracker Items
HELP Tab
When scrolling to the bottom of the HELP sheet, you can now see a list of Acronyms and Abbreviations. Check back as we continue to add to this list.
Student Data
Growth and Assessment data has been added to the Student Data tab. The grey columns will be visible, but you will view the National Percentile Rank (NPR) when clicking the plus signs at the top of the tracker.
What's new in Excel
There are 8 new functions that were recently released in Microsoft Excel: FILTER, RANDARRAY, SEQUENCE, SORT, SORTBY, UNIQUE, XLOOKUP, XMATCH. You can click here to learn more about these different functions. Don’t see these new functions in your version of Excel? Some K12 users are on the “Monthly Channel” while others are on the “Semi-Annual Channel”. You can check your update channel by clicking “Account” in Excel. Your channel will be listed under “About Excel”. If you are part of the semi-annual channel, hold tight as these updates are coming!
Something old (but very useful) in Excel: The Status Bar
Did you know you can get quick calculations such as averages, sums, or a count of cells from your status bar in Excel? Just select a group of cells and look at the gray bar at the bottom right-hand corner of your Excel worksheet. Your status bar contains more than just calculations. You can zoom, change your view and more!
Searching for that pot o' gold? Or just for formulas...
Ever get a file from someone else and wonder what is static and what is formula? Don't waste time clicking around form cell to cell. Use this trick to reveal all the formulas on a sheet so you can see what you're working with!
Keyboard shortcut: Ctrl ` (the tilde key, just next to the 1 at the top of your keyboard)
-or-
on your Excel ribbon go to Formulas tab > Show Formulas
Bonus tip!!! Notice in the picture below that hovering over Show Formulas prompts a pop-up that reveals the Keyboard Shortcut? Excel does this any time there is a shortcut option for the command you are using. Even when there is no shortcut, it still gives a handy tip or info about that feature.
