Free Summer Meals for Children
The Butte County Office of Education CalKids Summer Food Program is providing free meals daily to any student 18 and under during the summer at various Oroville locations. All sites are closed July 4th.
Perfect Attendance
Congratulations to Steven Chue from LPHS and Xai Yang from OHS for having perfect attendance for the entire 21/22 school year. They didn’t even have one tardy! Each student will earn a $50 gift certificate to use at their student store next year. Great job!
Work Permits Reminder
Work permits are issued from the school that your student attends. Please check your school’s website for information on how to apply for a work permit during the summer. Our schools have limited staffing in July, so it’s better to apply sooner than later.
Annual Student Information Update
Parents/guardians are required to review and update their student’s data on file through an electronic process called Parent Data Confirmation. You will receive information about this process later this month via email and U.S. mail. Please take a few minutes to review and update your student’s data in order to avoid receiving weekly reminders. This process must be completed before your student returns to school.
Boys & Girls Club Summer Program
The Boys & Girls Club is hosting a summer program at Oroville High School from 12:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. from June 8th - August 8th. Students currently enrolled in 7th – 11th grades are invited to join by submitting a membership packet, which must be filled out by a parent or guardian if they are under age 18.
The membership fee of $100 covers the whole summer as well as the next school year. Scholarships are also available. There is no deadline to sign-up. Anyone can drop in at any time during the summer. Please call (530) 815-9430 or (530) 487-8636 if you have any questions.

Limited Staff at District Office and School Sites During the Summer
The availability of staff at the District Office and at our school offices may be limited during the summer, especially in July, due to work schedules and vacations. Counselors do not return to work until August. We advise people to call or send an email to make an appointment. Phone calls and emails will be returned as soon as the person you are trying to reach is back in their office.
