A Moment With Mrs. O'Donnell
Dear Attea Families,
I hope all our Attea families had a healthy and relaxing Thanksgiving. We are off to a good start for Trimester 2! I have started a new tradition at Attea for All-Star Flyer recognition. Three hundred fifteen students were provided an acknowledgment certificate before Thanksgiving Break for having no tardies and behavior log entries!
Our goal is for more students to rise up to achieve this recognition for Trimester 2! By the end of this week, all students will have had a mini-lesson regarding expectations to get to class on time and to learn from our mistakes by reteaching of expected behaviors. Please continue to talk to your students regarding being on time, using kind words, and keeping your hands and feet to yourself. If students can do these three things, then all our students will be safe, respectful, and responsible. I appreciate your support in assisting our students to Rise Up in Trimester 2!
Go Flyers!

Current Trends in Vaping Student Presentation
Earlier this week, Erin Tegge AM, LSW, Prevention Program Coordinator at PEER Services, Inc. and Glenview Northbrook Coalition for Youth presented a program for parents on current trends in Vaping. Click on the button below to watch a recording of the parent presentation. (Find the presentation in Spanish, Korean and Mongolian, and recordings and resources from other parent programs on the D34 ParentConnect website.)
We will be hosting the student presentation regarding Vaping on Friday, Dec. 9th at 2pm. The age appropriate presentation will help students understand the risks and consequences of vaping, including sharing up to date research information on the impact of cannabis on adolescents. If you would to like to opt out your child from this learning experience, please call the main office at 847-486-7700.
Yearbook Ordering Ending Soon
Please remember that the school yearbook is an optional purchase. Students will only receive a yearbook if one is ordered and purchased. The Yearbook is a time honored tradition that recaps the school year in pictures. It is a produced by the students of the Attea Yearbook Club.
If you would like to make sure that your child gets a yearbook, order one as soon as possible. The yearbook fee is $23.00. Payment can be made through e~Funds (Pay for Optional Fees) or by sending cash or a check to the main office.
Unsure if you ordered a yearbook already? Parents can find the information in PowerSchool in the Fees section or contact Diane Kaneshiro in the school office at 847-486-7703. It is better to ask if the purchase was already made than to pay twice!
