Dear McLoughlin Families,
Happy Holidays! This time of year always sneaks up on me as the time flies by for our school year. I hope you are able to find some joy in this time of year.
At McLoughlin, we have entered our second Trimester so please encourage your students to set goals for themselves and work hard to improve. Each trimester is an opportunity for students to work on learning and developing positive habits at school and at home. We will continue to work with students and encourage them to be on time and engaged in their classes as two things they have some direct control over each day.
If you have been following the news this year around schools, you may have heard that many schools across the country have experienced challenges with student behavior and vandalism. Many of these issues have been connected to the “Tik Tok” app that is popular with students. Here at Mac, we have experienced our fair share of challenges, and we continue to engage our students in conversations about taking responsibility for themselves and being a positive part of our community. Collectively, we have all had to adjust to the daily life of in-person learning after our previous year of remote learning. One thing that I always keep in mind when there are challenges like these is that the vast majority of our students are engaged positively most of the time, and that students engaged in negative behaviors are all capable of doing the right thing. I believe in the goodness of our students, and appreciate all you can do to support them to make the right choices when at school or anywhere in our community.
Thank you for continuing to support our school and students as we learn and grow together.
Sincerely,
Travis Boeh

PARKING LOT SAFETY- Parent Drop off and Pick-up
- Pick up time in the afternoon is 3:45-3:50
- Pull as far forward as possible and continue doing so as cars pull out. We will be asking students to wait further west on the sidewalk rather than in front of the office.
- Form ONE line next to the curb when waiting in your car. Do not stop in the middle of the driveway to pick up or drop off your student.
- Remain in your car unless you are parked in a parking space
Please be aware that school zone traffic laws are in effect all year. Watch for the yellow flashing light and remember to slow down—20 miles per hour—and stop at crosswalks whenever students are present. Use caution when entering and parking in the MAC parking lot.
