Attendance Information

- ATTENDANCE PHONE LINE: 208.855.4252
- Please use our attendance line to report any of your student absences or request a permit to leave!! If you get the attendance voicemail, please leave a message, as the attendance secretary checks it regularly.
- PERMIT TO LEAVE CAMPUS (PTL):
If it is necessary for a student to leave campus, they must obtain permit to leave from the attendance office. Failure to secure this permit will result in a major truancy as stated in the school handbook. In order to facilitate a student’s release, the ATTENDANCE OFFICE NEEDS AT LEASET ONE (1) HOUR NOTICE. A parent or guardian must call the attendance office prior to the student needing to leave. Notes will not be accepted. Please be advised that NO PERMITS TO LEAVE CAMPUS WILL BE MADE AND NO STUDENT WILL BE CALLED OUT OF CLASS 20 MINUTES BEFORE LUNCH AND 20 MINUTES BEFORE THE END OF THE DAY.
- If your student is marked absent in a class that they attended, please email the teacher that they were marked absent in so the teacher can change that with the attendance office. The attendance office cannot change it without the teachers approval.

Students are allowed and encouraged to carry and self-administer a one day’s dose of over the counter (OTC) medication such as Tylenol, Ibuprofen or Tums with parental consent. Medication must be in original packaging or container and can be stored in student’s locker or backpack.

- Substitute Shortage: We are short substitutes on a daily basis, in our district, and specifically, at Centennial High School. The need ranges from half day substitutes to full day substitutes. If you are interested in being placed in our "emergency substitute pool" only at Centennial High School to help with our sub shortage, please email me at robarge.jason@westada.org
If your child needs assistance with food or personal care items, please have them contact their counselor or email cornell.amy@westada.org and we will get them started with The Pantry!
- Snow Team: First race of the season at Bogus Basin is Saturday Jan. 8, 2022. Nordic Race starts at 10:00am at the Nordic Lodge, Snowboard Expert starts at 10:30AM, Freestyle at 11:15AM and all other Slamon races start at 12:15pm. All Slamon and freestyle courses take place in the Bitterroot Basin (Chair 5).
- Snow Team gear orders and payments are due Tuesday 12/14. Gear order forms and prices are available in Room 130 or Room 109. If you have the form already, pay the bookkeeper and bring your receipt to Mr. Tiderman or Ms. DiGrazia. And as always..... Think Snow!
- Yearbook: Last day to purchase for the 21-22 year is January 20th, 2022. Can buy with cash or check at the bookkeeping window for $68.90 or my schoolfees with credit card.
- Interested in Auditioning for this Spring's all-school musical- The Addams Family? Find one of the posters hanging up or come talk to Mrs. Burt about auditions. We hope to see you there!
- Steak, burritos, and guacamole...oh my...Centennial Snow Team is hosting a fundraiser at Chipotle in the Village on Tuesday 12/14 from 5pm-9pm. Come and get dinner for you and the fam, tell the cashier you're with Centennial Snow Team and a donation will be made. Active Snow Team members remember this is one of a few fundraisers you can complete to earn your letter.
- “Attention to all girls who plan on playing softball this Spring. There will be a mandatory meeting on Thursday, December 16th in room 234 at the very beginning of lunch. We will be discussing the Winter workouts that will start up after Christmas break. It is essential that you come to the meeting so we can start making a list of how many girls are trying out for the program. Hustle to room to 234 so we can get started and you will be released right away. Don’t be late….see you there!”
- Are you wanting to get crafty or make and wrap gifts for the holiday season? The library is hosting crafting classes during lunch from now up until the end of break and it’s absolutely free! Go check it out!

Centennial Chapter Lunch Meeting: Tuesday (12/14/2021) Rm. 111 @ 11:00 am
1) TEAM HOSA Join Code—8pglohk
2) All indications are by state CTE that April State HOSA will be in-person for 2022.
3) State HOSA 2022 cost will be $100/student—Students that have not competed before will pay an additional $20 for lifetime membership with HOSA. This will be paid to our bookkeeper, Mrs. Steinmetz.
4) Continue category of Events and Sign-Up for April 13-15, 2022 Leadership Competition. We need everyone signed up for 3 events by X-mas break, 12/17/2021, on the events spreadsheet on TEAMS.
5) Regional pre-state HOSA competition Feb 11 and 12, Twin Falls. This competition is still under discussion for this year. Cost per student is $25.
- 6) Community Service—YMCA volunteer assistance program. This can end up being tied to HOSA community awareness project. Contact rachel.feuz@ymcatvidaho.org

Reminder from the School Nurse
We are excited to offer Centennial High School students an option for dental cleaning services. West Ada School District and the Family Medical Residency of Idaho have teamed together to open a pediatric dental clinic serving children in the West Ada School District that do not have Medicaid or private dental insurance. The clinic is located on the Meridian Elementary School campus. It offers no cost dental cleanings to qualifying students.
- The week of January 28th, the Meridian Schools Clinic has reserved appointments for Centennial High School students. If your student has no dental insurance and you would like to schedule a no cost dental cleaning for your student, please contact the Meridian Schools Clinic at 208-514-2527. If have any questions, please contact our school nurse Hillary Redd at 208-855-4250.

- For students needing to take and store prescription or other medication in the health office, please make certain that it is in a properly labeled prescription bottle or original container. A medication consent form must also be completed yearly by the parent and on file in the health office for delivery of medication.

Centennial Job Opportunities
The West Ada School District is actively looking for dedicated, caring, and compassionate paraprofessionals to join our special education team assisting students within both general and special education classrooms. You will be working with students to provide them the supplemental academic, social and/or behavior support they need. Meridian FFA
- FFA is hosting a donation drive until Friday, December 17th to benefit the Lifeline Pregnancy Center this week and next week. Items needed are: clothes sizes newborn to 6 months, diapers, towels, wash clothes, socks, bibs, pacifiers, soft toys, rattles, and blankets. Items can be brought to the ag room (113).

Are you experiencing COVID-19 symptoms?
COVID-19 symptoms include:
- Fever (100 degrees farenheit) - without having to take any fever-reducing medications, such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen
- New loss of smell or taste
- Cough
- Muscle aches
