OUHSD New Schedule Update
New Schedule Begins April 19th-In Person & Distance Learning
Please review this important information about this week and the five day per week schedule beginning April 19th.
April 12, 2021
Dear Oroville Union High School District Community,
We want to give you an update on our plan to return to five days per week in-person learning, which starts next Monday, April 19, 2021, as well as an update on bus transportation and athletics.
We will be on our regular schedule this Monday through Wednesday. Students in the distance learning program will also begin the new schedule on April 19th.
In order for teachers to prepare for full classes next week, this Thursday and Friday will be advisory period only days. Students will be required to login to Zoom both days from 9:10 a.m. to 9:29 a.m. to check in with their teachers.
Please note that independent study programs are not affected by this change and will continue with their regular schedule for the remainder of the school year.
The new bell schedule for the remainder of the 2020-21 school year is posted below.
The Transportation Department will be contacting all families with existing bus riders this week to inform them of new pick up and drop off times. If you live in an area where busing is available but your student has not been riding, you can contact the Transportation Department at 538-2300, ext. 1126, to see if there are any seats available.
Grab and Go lunches will be available to all students daily from 1:05 p.m. - 1:35 p.m.
Boys and girls basketball, baseball, softball, boys soccer, boys tennis and track and field competitions will be starting in the next few weeks. At this point, basketball players will be required to be COVID tested weekly in order to participate. There is no current testing requirement for outdoor sports. Please refer to your school’s website for schedules and more information.
We will continue to be vigilant about following all of our health protocols, such as mask wearing and facility cleaning, in order to maintain safe and healthy school environments. We would like to also remind students and their families that students are required to stay home if they are ill and/or experiencing any of the symptoms of COVID-19 or another contagious illness. If you have any questions or are unsure about sending your student(s) to school, please contact your school’s Attendance Office for guidance. Students are required to stay home if anyone in their household has tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently in isolation.
