MTE Sunday Update for March 26, 2023
Dear MTE families,
Happy Sunday! I don't know about you, but I was so grateful for the sunshine yesterday! Most of you won't be surprised to learn I spent most the day working in the yard. I am also going to order a couple of bags of compost from our MTE lunchroom composting! Please click the link below if you want to order some and help your child see the connection between our lunchroom composting and helping the earth!
While I was super bummed for the K-State Wildcats, I was also super proud they went so far!
This week marks the beginning of the Kansas State Assessments for third, fourth, and fifth grades. These assessments are required by the state. The state assessment period will go until the end of April. We will have an assessment assembly tomorrow afternoon for these classes. If you have a third, fourth, or fifth grade student - please DO pay attention to the assessment schedule for your child. If possible, please avoid taking your child out on testing days. They will have to make the tests up, and the make-up time may not be at an ideal time for them. Please contact me if you have any questions.
We continue to be excited for the Bulldog Bolt! There are fun signs around the track and playground showing exercises that promote fitness. Weather permitting, Mr. TJ and myself, will take various grades outside to willingly participate in spontaneous quick trips around the track for fun. Workout Wednesdays and walking Wednesdays will continue until the BOLT!
On Friday, we had our Superintendent, Dr. Tonya Merrigan, visiting the building. She brought one of the Blue Valley Board of Education members, Gina Knapp with her. They were very complimentary of our students and staff! I was dressed as a safety cone (to honor the book fair runner up costume) and they were great sports as I escorted them about!
Next week, April 3-7, is National ParaEducator Week!
We have wonderful paras who do so much for all our students! We have our library para, reading intervention paras, special education paras for IRR students, special education paras for our LIFT and Intensive center-based classrooms, our kindergarten paras, our lunchroom para, our OT para, our early childhood paras, and our computer para! All of these staff members are hourly staff who give tirelessly to help our children have success in school! If your child has a para they see or are connected to, I encourage your family to send them a quick note of appreciation! We are asking all families to please send in a flower on Wednesday morning, April 5th, 2023 to help make our para flower bouquets. Thanks for helping all our team feel supported!
As always, if you have any questions, comments or concerns- please contact me!
"It is a great day to be a bulldog!"
