Meet the NG Special Areas Team!
2022-2023
Special Areas!
All KSD elementary kids are provided the opportunity to learn through their time in the library, through art, music and learning about health, wellness and physical education. Our kids in Kindergarten-2nd grade also benefit from learning strategies for problem solving and creativity in their Thinking Skills class.
At North Glendale, our kids rotate through these areas with a different "special" class everyday.
Specials are 50 minutes per day and are an important part of your NG kiddos learning!
Meet the Team!
Tom Butler ~ Art
NG art is an exciting place to have fun, create, play, and challenge yourself through creative problem solving. Art at NG focuses on materials and processes to enhance the brain, body and spirit through painting, drawing, sculpting and clay. Also as a specialist teacher we will be outside every morning and afternoon greeting families coming to and from school.
Art rocks!
Alex Yahl ~ Thinking Skills
Solving problems is fun and helps your brain grow! In Thinking Skills (a pilot for the 22-23 school year) kids in Kindergarten, 1st grade and second grade generate creative ideas as we tackle big problems that need solving!
Greg Mueller~ Music
Welcome to North Glendale! In the music room, we have lots of fun moving, singing, playing instruments, creating, and making music. I can’t wait!

Greetings NG Superstars and welcome to the new school year! We are excited to be your PE teachers! The PE classes are designed to TEACH new skills in movement, games, fitness and your health. When you come to class you need to bring 3 important things: 1. Tennis shoes to run and play in. 2. Your energy to keep up with Coach Tinsley and Coach Scott because every day is important. 3. A Superstar attitude ready to learn and perform everyday! We can’t wait to learn with you!

NG Library Media Center
Welcome to North Glendale! The NG Library is a great place to be! We have a lot of fun––reading (of course!), learning and sharing new and old books, researching, practicing library skills, playing Kahoots, preparing for the Book Battle, and so much more! The best part of our job is getting you excited about reading and making you curious about the world––just by opening a just-right book. We are excited to see you in our fabulous space!
