Message from the Principal
Dear Viking families,
Thank you for a great Curriculum Night. I was very impressed with the number of parents/guardians that came to school on one of the last beautiful nights of the fall.
As I stated at Curriculum Night we are off to a good start at VVMS. With the weather changing and getting deeper into fall, we know we will need to continue to partner to keep morale up and continue norming out standard school practices. Thank you in advance for your support of these efforts.
I have really appreciated the comments and feedback around the cell phone procedures, drop-off/pick-up effectiveness, and the professionalism of our teachers during Curriculum Night.
We are not a perfect organization, but we strive for perfection every day and your feedback helps us keep our professional practice sharp.
We are looking forward to athletics ramping up, activities being held in school, and even an ASB sponsored dance. This dance is for the whole school with no dress requirements. It will be held in the gym with teachers supervising. A special thank you to Bob’s Corn for donating pumpkins to keep the kids enjoying the afternoon when they are not dancing or socializing.
Enjoy Fall in the northwest and remember school is fun!
Eric Cahan
VVMS Principal

If your student checked out a district laptop, September 30 is the last day to purchase laptop replacement insurance. We know accidents and/or loss may happen, even when students intend to take good care of the device. The full cost of a laptop replacement is $350 and the replacement costs for a missing power cord is $25. The School District offers an Opt-in Protection plan for $30. Click here for the document that outlines the coverage and benefits. If this is something your family chooses to do, click here to log in and pay through your students account.
Fall Harvest Dance-October 6

There is no bussing home after the dance, students must be picked up promptly. All sport practices have been canceled on Oct. 6 so all students have the opportunity to attend.
Valley View Direct Give Fundraiser
Hello Valley View Parents!
The Parent Club is pleased to announce we are in full swing for the 2022-23 school year and need your help! The past few years have yielded very little in fundraising due to Covid limitations. Donations will assist us in funding things like student planners, teacher meals and snacks during conferences, holiday treats and meals for staff, support for a family meal for valley view families in need over the holidays, teacher/staff appreciation week, scholarships for GP students having attended Valley View, the 8th grade dance and more. In order to support our teachers and students, would you please consider a donation to our cause?
A generous donation of $25 per student would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for the consideration and support!
