Maplewood Memo

PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Maplewood Families,
As this hard time is upon us, I see our community coming together in such beautiful ways. From delivering homemade goods to the teachers on the picket line, to marching and holding a strike sign with your children or opening your home to other students who are in need of daycare. Acts of giving and support like this are exactly what makes our community so amazing. Thank you.
If you are not following the Instagram or Facebook Maplewood posts, I highly recommend you do. You will hear about all the things going on with our community and find opportunities to connect and support. You can also visit https://www.maplewoodpta.com/support/ to learn how you can join the work of supporting our amazing teachers in this hard time.
I am in a tricky position being middle management and cannot share my personal views on the matter. I can share, however, that I want the best work environment for our teachers and the best education for our students that we can provide. If we set everyone up for success, we will be successful!
I want to take this time to thank you Educational Assistants and our Paraeducators for stepping up to be reading coaches for some students during this time. They are not teachers so it can be a bit intimidating to meet with students online. I met with them today to hear about how it is going and they shared that they are really enjoying it and that they love seeing the kids.
I am hoping we see you back at school soon with a positive resolution behind us. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. I am happy to help.
Thank you,
Kit Galloway
Maplewood Principal
