A Moment With Mrs. O'Donnell
Dear Attea Families,
Thank you to all the families that came out to support their students during Conferences! This is a critical time for our middle school students to refocus to finish trimester 2 and move into a strong finish for trimester 3. I also sincerely appreciate the time parents took to give us feedback on the 5Essentials Survey to assist us in celebrating, setting goals, and leading Attea Middle School in positive growth. I hope the parent response rate increased over conferences, as stations were provided to assist in opportunities for feedback. The Attea community values your support and partnership! We need 20% of our parents to complete the survey for us to obtain these essential results. If you still need to complete the survey, please take a moment to complete it now.
We hope you had a chance to review to check out our Book Fair. All the proceeds go back to the Attea LRC! Our
Our Attea staff would like to thank the SPATT PTA for providing lunch during the conference! We appreciate your continued support and thoughtfulness!
Trimester 2 is coming to a close on March 10th. Log into PowerSchool to check on any assignments your child is missing so they can encourage them to complete them and end the trimester on the upswing. Our LRC is open every morning before and after school, Monday-Thursday, to provide space for students to complete school work.
Good Luck to our Band students competing in IGSMA Contest this weekend, and we look forward to celebrating their accomplishments.
We are excited to gear up for the start of trimester 3, and all the wonderful moments the spring will bring.
Go Flyers!
Mrs. O’Donnell
Principal

2022-23 Illinois 5Essentials Survey
Have you taken the 5Essentials Parent Survey yet?
Your input on this statewide survey -- given to parents of all students throughout the state of Illinois -- allows us to help us improve our schools for our students. As a parent, taking the survey will allow you to share your thoughts on the important elements of school effectiveness. The statewide Illinois 5Essentials Survey is administered for the Illinois State Board of Education by UChicago Impact at the University of Chicago. The survey gathers data related to five indicators that can predict important student outcomes, including improved attendance and larger test score gains. These five indicators that affect and predict school success are:
Effective Leaders
Collaborative Teachers
Involved Families
Supportive Environments
Ambitious Instruction
Prior research in more than 400 schools shows that schools strong on at least 3 of the 5Essentials are 10 times more likely to improve student outcomes.
Please click here to take the parent survey. We ask that you take the survey for each school in which you have a child. We will be pleasantly persistent in the coming weeks as we hope to reach 100% participation before the survey closes on March 31, 2023. We plan to use the results of this year's survey to give us a clear picture of our schools' climate and culture. If at least 20% of parents participate in the survey, a parent supplement report will be generated and we will share these results with the community.
