Did you know that students improve as readers by doing one simple thing: READING!
If you’re looking for a way to help your children continue to be successful, create opportunities for reading each day and model the love of reading for them. Re-reading favorite books, reading magazines, turning on the closed-captioning on the television, reading aloud…all of these are family activities that support and reinforce reading. Children may also be motivated to read instructions for games…or directions for a recipe…or even a user’s manual for a piece of technology. Here’s a short article that offers 11 Ways Parents Can Help Their Children Read.
