Attendance Information

- ATTENDANCE PHONE LINE: 208.855.4252
- Please use our attendance line to report any of your student absences or request a permit to leave!! If you get the attendance voicemail, please leave a message, as the attendance secretary checks it regularly.
- PERMIT TO LEAVE CAMPUS (PTL):
If it is necessary for a student to leave campus, they must obtain permit to leave from the attendance office. Failure to secure this permit will result in a major truancy as stated in the school handbook. In order to facilitate a student’s release, the ATTENDANCE OFFICE NEEDS AT LEAST ONE (1) HOUR NOTICE. A parent or guardian must call the attendance office prior to the student needing to leave. Notes will not be accepted. Please be advised that NO PERMITS TO LEAVE CAMPUS WILL BE MADE AND NO STUDENT WILL BE CALLED OUT OF CLASS 20 MINUTES BEFORE LUNCH AND 20 MINUTES BEFORE THE END OF THE DAY.
- If your student is marked absent in a class that they attended, please email the teacher that they were marked absent in so the teacher can change that with the attendance office. The attendance office cannot change it without the teachers approval.

Announcements
- Parking: Currently we have no available student parking spots. Students who park at CHS without a permit are at risk of receiving parking tickets. Please fill out the form online at the CHS website, so you can be put in line when a parking spot becomes available. For questions, please contact Mrs. Mortenson @ 208-855-4271
- Parents: When dropping off your students, please drop off in the student drop off area. Don't drop them off in the staff parking.
Students are allowed and encouraged to carry and self-administer a one day’s dose of over the counter (OTC) medication such as Tylenol, Ibuprofen or Tums with parental consent. Medication must be in original packaging or container and can be stored in student’s locker or backpack.
- Substitute Shortage: We are short substitutes on a daily basis, in our district, and specifically, at Centennial High School. The need ranges from half day substitutes to full day substitutes. If you are interested in being placed in our "emergency substitute pool" only at Centennial High School to help with our sub shortage, please email me at robarge.jason@westada.org
If your child needs assistance with food or personal care items, please have them contact their counselor or email cornell.amy@westada.org and we will get them started with The Pantry!
If your student is on a transfer to attend Centennial High School, please know that these must be filled out every year to continue at Centennial High School. If you reside within West Ada school district boundaries (Meridian High, Eagle High etc.) please fill out an in-district transfer application for fall 2022-20223. If you reside out of district (Boise, Kuna, Nampa etc.) please fill out the out of district transfer application. All forms can be found here. School Registration / School Enrollment and Registration (westada.org) When a student is on a transfer the parents must provide transportation.
If you utilize the printable form, please email it back to the registrar at nimmo.julie@westada.org. Please be aware that these can take through the summer months to be processed.
If you are out of Centennial's boundary and do not submit a transfer application, you will be withdrawn at the end of the school year and will need to register your student at their boundary school.
- Student's please double check your requests for next year in Class Choice? If you have changed your minds about what electives you are wanting to take then you will need to contact your counselor. Schedule changes will be limited next year, so you need to make sure your electives are correct before the summer break.
- If your student wants to transfer to Virtual School House for 2022-2023 school year, please fill out the in district transfer application and return it to Julie the registrar in the counseling office.
- Centennial Boys Lacrosse will be at the Meridian Speedway on Saturday, July 16 doing a 50/50 raffle. Lacrosse players will sell tickets to the crowd throughout the evening and the Lacrosse team will split the funds with the lucky ticket winner. We’d love for Centennial students, faculty and families to mark their calendar for July 16 and enjoy a night of racing and support the team!
- Come be a part of our award-winning Color Guard team! Color Guard performs alongside the marching band in the fall. No experience necessary to join! Come to the band room after school on Monday, May 16th and Tuesday, May 17th from 3:00-5:00 PM for an introductory workshop. Scan the yellow posters in the hallway and see Mrs. Brings out in CPAC with any questions!
One last CHS Saturday School has been scheduled
- When: May 21 - 8:00 – 11:00
Students will need to arrive between 7:45am-7:59am, as the doors will close promptly at 8am.
Students with 3 or more TARDIES AND/OR TARDY LATES per course are at risk of losing credit.
If you are at risk of failing 1 or more classes this semester, and need more academic time to catch up before the semester’s end, please attend Saturday school.
We will have teachers from all major content areas available for student support.
If you have any questions or need further assistance, please reach out to your student's grade level Principal.

- This leadership program will help you recognize your leadership talents and apply them in becoming effective, ethical leaders in your home, school, workplace and community.

Reminder from the School Nurse
We are excited to offer Centennial High School students an option for dental cleaning services. West Ada School District and the Family Medical Residency of Idaho have teamed together to open a pediatric dental clinic serving children in the West Ada School District that do not have Medicaid or private dental insurance. The clinic is located on the Meridian Elementary School campus. It offers no cost dental cleanings to qualifying students.
- Students are allowed and encouraged to carry and self-administer a one day’s dose of over the counter (OTC) medication such as Tylenol, Ibuprofen or Tums with parental consent. Medication must be in original packaging or container and can be stored in student’s locker or backpack.
- For students needing to take and store prescription or other medication in the health office, please make certain that it is in a properly labeled prescription bottle or original container. A medication consent form must also be completed yearly by the parent and on file in the health office for delivery of medication.

You will be working with students to provide them the supplemental academic, social and/or behavior support they need.
