- Students who arrive to school every day with smiles on their faces, eager to learn.
- Parents, guardians, and families who entrust their children to us each day and collaborate with us to ensure the success of all learners.
- Teachers who work tirelessly to care for and love our students, create engaging lessons, and provide meaningful experiences at Solon.
- Exceptional Education teachers and RtI/Title interventionists and paraprofessionals who work to share differentiated and individualized learning opportunities with our students at their levels.
- Our school counselor, Miss Lauritzen, and PBIS Interventionist, Mrs. Rzyski who nurture our students and create a positive, caring environment in our school.
- Our nurse, Mrs. McNeil, who takes care of countless scrapes, scratches, and boo-boos, along with other medical needs to make sure we are all healthy and ready to learn.
- Ms. Hovanec and Mrs. Rosenbaum in the front office who wear many hats and keep our school running smoothly.
- Our custodians, Mr. Ault, Mrs. Troutman, and Mr. Berkes, who keep our building safe, clean, and functioning each day.
- Our cafeteria staff for making and serving nutritious breakfasts and lunches.
- Bus drivers, crossing guards, and police officers who help our students get to and from school safely each morning and afternoon.
- Our Crown Point community partners for teaming with us to provide shoes, coats, food, clothing, and other needs for our students and families.
We are grateful for each and every one of you. We hope you find time to rest, relax, and reflect over Thanksgiving Break.

Solon Robinson's Student Council Presents: Give Back Week
Dear Solon Families:
For our first community service project, Solon’s Student Council will be helping the St. Joseph’s Carmelite Home of East Chicago. In order to raise funds and supplies, we will be hosting a “Give Back” Spirit Week! If you would like to be a part of this community service outreach, please follow the outline below:
Donate $1.00 for each day you choose to participate!
Monday, 11/29: Mismatched Day
Tuesday, 11/30: Dress in Tie-Dyed Clothes OR your Favorite Color
Wednesday, 12/1: Crazy Hair OR Wear your Favorite Hat Day
Thursday, 12/2: Decades Day- dress up in an outfit from your favorite decade!
Friday, 12/3: Dress up as your Favorite Movie Character OR as your Favorite Book Character Day
*On each day of participation, students will turn in their donation to their teacher.
Carmelite Home is also in need of some items. If you would like to donate an item, instead of making a monetary donation, we are accepting the following items:

Final Textbook Rental Payment Reminder
Please note that the final installment payments are due on November 30th for parents/guardians who are not eligible for assistance or have not completed a book rental payment agreement. If you have completed a payment agreement, please note that the first and second installments were due on or before October 30th. If you are unable to pay the full amount at this time, please complete a book rental payment agreement or make arrangements with the office immediately. Outstanding accounts, and accounts that fail to make scheduled payments, according to your agreement, may be referred to Kinum for collections.
