Making History with our First EVER Fall Parade
A special note of thanks to you, our parents, for everything - from the unexpected and unplanned detouring around 104th's emergency road repair, for the grace you extended as we delayed the start of the parade by five minutes, to the chilly weather. What a great wall to begin the Fall season!
Be sure to click on the link below to view the video captured of all the students (and staff) displaying their dance moves. What fun!

The Weather is Changing
As the weather is changing, it is the desire of the school that students get outside as much as possible. Please visit our FAQs (or click here) for more information about outside and inside recesses.
King Soopers Rewards
As you shop at your “favorite” local store, did you know that 2% of your purchases could be donated to Southlawn? The steps are easy. To begin, click here.
If you have families and friends who shop at the following stores: Baker’s, City Market, Dillons, Food 4 Less, Foods Co., Fred Meyer, Fry’s, Gerbes, Jay C Food Store, Kroger, Mariano’s, Metro Market, Pay-Less Super Markets, Pick’n Save, QFC, Ralphs, Ruler and Smith’s Food and Drug, 2% of their purchases can also be donated to Southlawn. Even if they are in another state! They only need to be registered here in Colorado at King Soopers. If they apply for their King Soopers card here in Colorado, their purchases at any of these stores will qualify. Spread the word. It’s that easy!
We Need You!
The new school year is well underway but like many other school districts, businesses and organizations, we’re facing very severe staffing shortages.
We continue to face labor challenged. YOU can help! Many parents and community members support us in the important work of substituting. We can use more teacher and para substitutes. Our teacher and para workforce has grown, but our sub pool has not yet recovered from to match this growth.
As a 27J sub, you can choose your location and your work days (hopefully at Southlawn). You can talk to Nancy (303 655 6205) or contact our HR Executive Director, Michael Clow, Andy Pippin or Julie Trujillo (303 655 2900).
The Colorado Department of Education (CDE) has training and a recruitment stipend to get you started ... CDE LINK. Check us out at Workat27J.com. Please share with your friends and on social media. We appreciate your continued support of Southlawn Elementary.
