National Arts in Education Week
AHS's Nikki Dapson-Yardley was featured in a Community School of the Arts article!!
Although she hasn't been on stage in quite some time - Nikki hopes to be able to get involved in the community theatre scene because she misses the stage so much! We agree that we hope she is able to find her way back to the stage again sometime soon too!
When asked about why she thinks Arts Education is important, Nikki shared, "Arts Education is so important because it gives kids a creative outlet & a place to express themselves. It also provides great opportunities to make friends and build confidence. Kids can learn teamwork, communication, empathy, collaboration, & so many other important life skills through the arts. I was incredibly shy & self-conscious as a young teenager, & acting brought me out of my shell & allowed me to open up. I honestly wouldn't be who I am today without it!"
Nikki then looked back on her time with us and shared, "My favorite thing about CSA was working with the students. They were all incredibly talented, & they were the sweetest, most respectful kids & teenagers I've ever met!"
Thank you Nikki for helping us share the importance of Arts Education!

Census 2020
Getting the count right matters! Arkansas receives six to seven billion annually in federal dollars based on the results of the national census. These funds support Medicaid and grants for transportation, education, public housing, community development, and dozens of other critical federal programs.
