Message from Dr. David Sharp
Greetings, Husky Community,
Happy April! It’s hard to believe spring is here! With only eight weeks left, summer vacation will be here before we know it, and we want all of our huskies to finish the 2022-2023 school year strong! I thought this week I would give you an idea of the school events that will take place between now and the end of the year. I am also including the final exam schedule for seniors and underclassmen. This list does not include special events or end-of-year events for clubs, activities, co-curricular, or athletics. Each group will provide those particulars. Finally, best of luck to all of our spring sports teams that are competing this weekend and next week.

Kansas State Assessment information for TENTH grade students and families
Dear 10th grade students and families,
Kansas State Assessments are coming up! Tenth graders will take the math assessment next week starting April 3rd, and they'll begin the reading assessment on April 10th. These tests will be taken in their math and ELA classes. We would appreciate if you and your student could help us with the following:
- Students will take these assessments on their MacBooks, so please make sure that you charge your device the night before and bring the charger to school.
- Students should get a good night’s rest, eat a good breakfast, and have a positive attitude, all of which will help you to do your best!
- In addition, we would ask you to avoid scheduling appointments during your student’s class so that their testing is not disrupted.
Thank you for your support!
Kelsey Bakalar, Assistant Principal
Juniors and February 28th ACT score availability
For Juniors who took the February 28th ACT: scores will be available 3-8 weeks after ACT received the tests (tests were mailed in a couple of days after testing was complete). You should check your MyACT account online for your score.
2nd Semester Finals Schedule & Final Exam Guidelines
Final Exam Schedule:
Students are dismissed from school early these 3 days (please see the finals schedule for details). These are important days for students to be at school to successfully finish the semester.
Final Exam Guidelines:
A culminating activity (final exam, unit exam, final paper, final project or reflection of learning) will be given in all classes. Students will be advised of the format to be used in each class by their teacher.
No final exams will be given early without administrative approval. You must pick up a form called “Final Exam Exception Request Form” to communicate that you will miss final exams and to receive administrative approval. It must be turned in 2 weeks prior to the start of finals. The form can be picked up from Mrs. Berry or Mrs. Fromm in the office.
If a student must miss a final due to illness or a prearranged absence, they will be required to make it up when they return (this could be July or August, depending on dates and staff availability).
Class Day/Graduation interpretation services available
If you or a guest plan to attend class day or graduation and need an ASL interpreter, please call or email Dr. Sharp by April 3. Please note that graduation will be livestreamed with live captioning.
BVNW Theatre presents Kodachrome March 30, 31, April 1
Do not miss BVNW Theatre's upcoming play, Kodachrome! Kodachrome is the story of a small town told through the lens of the local photographer, who lets us peek into her neighbors' lives to catch glimpses of romance in all its stages. You will not want to miss this show, get your tickets today!
