Congratulation High Flyers of the Week!
A Moment With Mrs. O'Donnell
Dear Attea Families,
I am excited to share a new tradition that we started at ATTEA today. Every Friday will be HIGH FIVE FRIDAY! ALL of our students will be acknowledged as they enter the building by our “FLYER” student mascot. Also, we will recognize students who received a High Flyer recognition for being SAFE, RESPONSIBLE, and RESPECTFUL. Teachers write HIGH FLYER, and students and families are notified by email. All of the names of the student who earned at HIGH Flyer will be entered into a raffle, and six students from each grade level will be chosen to take a picture with FLYER and receive a HIGH FLYER Prize from the administration. I am looking forward to our fun Spirit days next week and finding more ways to lift ATTEA with positive energy and experiences!
Go Flyers!

Halloween 2022 Guidelines
As the end of October approaches we would like to communicate guidelines for October 31st. Take a look below and please keep in mind as you plan if you wish to participate in Halloween dress:
HALLOWEEN GUIDELINES
We want all of our students to have a fun and safe time this Halloween at school. In order to promote a safe and respectful environment, here are some reminders about our costume
guidelines:
- Face/body make-up along with hair coloring are welcome, but they must be applied at home, prior to coming to school.
- Students may not bring hair coloring or make up to apply at school or to share with others. Masks may not be worn during the school day. Props should not be brought to school (including fake weapons).
- Costumes need to be consistent with our dress standards.
- Costumes should respect the dignity and sensitivities of all groups of people.
- Costumes should avoid representations that are inappropriately provocative, excessively violent, or that contain references to drugs or alcohol.
Order Your 22-23 Yearbook
Please remember that the school yearbook is an optional purchase. Students will only receive a yearbook if one is ordered and purchased. The Yearbook is a time honored tradition that recaps the school year in pictures. It is a produced by the students of the Attea Yearbook Club.
If you would like to make sure that your child gets a yearbook, order one as soon as possible. The yearbook fee is $23.00. Payment can be made through e~Funds (Pay for Optional Fees) or by sending cash or a check to the main office.
Unsure if you ordered a yearbook already? Parents can find the information in PowerSchool in the Fees section or contact Diane Kaneshiro in the school office at 847-486-7703. It is better to ask if the purchase was already made than to pay twice!
Parent Connect
Empowering Parents for Today’s World: Mindsets and Skills for a Successful School Year
Dear District 34 Families,
Please join us on Wednesday, October 26 at 7:00pm (yes, this is the correct date so please mark your calendar) in the Springman Wildcat Commons for “Empowering Parents for Today’s World,” our first in-person D34 ParentConnect program since March 2020! You’ll leave with actions that you can put into place immediately to make a difference for you and your child.
Professional counseling staff from Family Service Center and members of the D34 student services team will guide parents in supporting their children’s academic and social emotional success. Through quotes and clips, D34 teachers will share their perspective on the student experience and offer thoughts on how teachers and parents can work together.
