A Moment With Mrs. O'Donnell
Dear Attea Families,
Our staff is working hard to assist students in completing their school work at all grade levels to finish the year STRONG! Please help your students in reviewing PowerSchool. Clicking on the Student Profile link in PowerSchool will provide you with a list of missing assignments. We encourage all students to prioritize by completing summative assessments and formative assignments for the grades to demonstrate their learning.
Our teachers were overwhelmed by our SPAT PTA generosity and creativity shared with us during Staff Appreciation Week. Attea staff truly felt your appreciation, and we also would like to return the compliment and thank all of you for supporting the team at Attea!
Our last PTA meeting is Tuesday, May 9th - 9:15-10:15 am at Attea. We welcome any parents that would like to attend.
Go Flyers!
Mrs. O’Donnell
Principal
Congratulations to the High Flyers of the Week

The month of May is “Better Hearing and Speech Month” and this week, May 8-14, is National Stuttering Awareness Week. It is a time to celebrate, educate, and spread the word about the topic of stuttering!
Nearly 1% of the general population of people stutters. Here are some tips for communicating with people who stutter.
- Do not tell a person to slow down.
- Do not interrupt the person or talk for the person.
- DO listen to the person, make eye contact, and wait for the person to finish what he or she is saying.
- DO be a respectful communicator, and listen to the person’s message.
Graduation Ticket Information
No “extra” tickets are available because we have provided families with the maximum number of possible tickets based on the capacity of the GBS auditorium. If you need extra tickets, families and graduates are encouraged to talk with each other and share tickets. There are no assigned seats in the auditorium.
More information about Graduation will be sent in early May.
Exciting Times Ahead for the Class of 2023!
5th to 6th Grade Parent Transition Survey RE-OPENED!
The form will close again on May 19th.
The input of families is an important component in planning students' transition from intermediate to middle school. Please talk together as a family to decide about Global Language, Band, Orchestra, and Choir. The form has a place for you to fill in your choices. The form will also allow you to express your thoughts about your child as a learner.
Please log into your Parent PowerSchool Account and click on the Transition Survey(See the left graphic).
The form will close again on May 19th.
No entries can be accepted after May 19th.
The class will be selected for the student based on the number as class size.

8th Grade Graduation Party Volunteer Sign Up
Calling all 6th and 7th grade parents to help chaperone the 8th grade Attea Grad party!!! There is a long standing tradition of 6th and 7th grade parents managing the party for the outgoing class of 8th graders. It's a great opportunity to see what happens, what you would do when it's your turn and what in some cases you would opt NOT to do ;). We are asking for a time commitment of 7:30-11. Volunteers will move around the different stations during the party as needed. If you cannot commit to the entire time slot, please make a note in the comment box or contact Dana Doffin at dana.d.doffin@gmail.com or for Tricia Johnson at tmj1578@gmail.com Thanks!!!
PTA meetings keep you informed and offer an opportunity for you to share your voice. We are always recruiting new volunteers and hope that you join us. The meetings will be in person and available on Zoom. The schedule for the year is below.
