Principal's Message
Dear Valley View Parents and Families,
We have less than three weeks of school left, and we have had a successful return to full-time learning this year. In addition to having students back in class, we have returned to concerts, plays, sports, and clubs. Thank you for your support in making this year possible for your student. Having three middle school students myself, I know that there was a lot of attending events, homework help, and driving that happened behind the scenes.
With school year coming to a close, it also means that the end of my time at Valley View is approaching. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with you and your students as assistant principal and interim principal over the past seven years. I feel blessed to have been in such a supportive community and thankful for the opportunity to work in such an amazing school. I will continue working for the district as Career and Technical Education Director but will miss being at Valley View.
Starting June 10th, students will need to get items they checked out earlier in the year checked back in. Please start looking at your student’s accounts to make sure there are no fines. Take a look around your house and to see if there are any library books that need returning, and taking inventory of the laptops, power cords, and possibly hot spots to make sure they are ready for return in a couple of weeks.
In addition to turn-in dates, there are quite a few fun events that we have in the near future:
· If you have an incoming 7th grade student (current 6th grader), we will be having a transition field trip for them on either June 1st or 2nd, depending on what school they attend. Students will play team-building games with our leadership students, hear about the middle school experience, eat lunch at Valley View, and get a tour of the school in small groups. More information about this field trip will be coming out from your student’s elementary school.
· The 8th Grade Celebration will be taking place on June 10th from 7pm – 9pm. Tickets cost $15 but let your student’s counselor know if cost is an issue. Ticket sales have already started during lunches and will continue this week on Wednesday and Thursday.
· Library books will need to be turned in to the library by June 10th.
· 7th grade students will turn their devices in on June 13th, and 8th grade students will turn their devices in on June 14th. We want all laptops, hotspots, and power cords turned in on those days. Staff who are collecting the student laptops will make students aware of fines they are assessed for damage, or if they turned in a laptop that did not belong to them.
· Yearbooks will be distributed to students on June 15th. Students with unpaid fines will need to pay their fines before they can receive their yearbooks. If you have a question about an unpaid fine, please contact Jackie Dalrymple in the office.
· Campus Day will happen on June 16th. During Campus Day, we have a modified schedule where classes take place in the morning, and after lunch, students participate in fun activities all around our school campus that are hosted by our school staff members. Students who are participating in the Talent Show (see below) will be participating in a rehearsal in the gym during at least a portion of Campus Day.
· Does your student have a talent that they would like to show their classmates? There will be a talent show during an assembly on the last day of school, June 20th. Mr. Mines, our band teacher, organizes the talent show.
Thank you for your support. Let us know if you have questions about any upcoming events.
Sincerely,
Brian Burdon

Bookkeeper's Corner
Yearbooks are still available if you haven‘t yet purchased one. The cost is $25 at the Bookkeeping window (with cash/check/credit) Quantities are limited so purchase yours today!
If you are unsure if you have purchased a yearbook, you can check your student account online, check the list posted outside Bookkeeping window, or see Bookkeeper, Jackie Dalrymple.
If you have fines or fees due, please pay in Bookkeeping office or online. Students with fines will not receive their yearbook on distribution day if they have not paid their fines/fees by June 6th.
Parents Please Check Accounts for Fines/Fees
PARENTS: PLEASE REVIEW YOUR STUDENT’S ACCOUNT FOR FINES & FEES AND MAKE PAYMENTS USING PAY PORTAL: https://wa-snohomish.intouchreceipting.com. Any unpaid fines will remain on account and follow your student to High School. During High School this may impact them in purchasing items, participating in sports, and receiving their yearbook on the early release date. They will also not receive their diploma until their account is paid in full. Please be aware that you will want to check this account later in June as well since fees/fines can accrue at the end of the year.
**Please note that food service balances cannot be applied to student fines and any balance (positive or negative) will roll over to Glacier Peak or Snohomish High School at the end of your student’s 8th grade year.
If you have any questions concerning your student’s account, please contact Jackie Dalrymple at 360-563-4240, or email at Jackie.dalrymple@sno.wednet.edu.

Make sure your child's immunizations are up to date!
It is important to make sure your child goes to their regularly scheduled wellness appointments, which often include immunizations. The summer months are a great time to get your child caught up with immunization requirements before the 2022-2023 school year. Schedule your appointments early, as health care providers’ schedules quickly fill up in August and September. Make sure to turn in your updated immunization paperwork to the school by Wednesday, September 7.
Every student enrolled/registered in school or childcare in the state of Washington must have medically verified up-to-date immunization records on file with the school in which they are enrolled/registering before the first day of school 2022-2023. Medically verified immunization records include one or more of the following:
- A Certificate of Immunization Status (CIS) printed from the Immunization Information System (IIS)
- A physical copy of the CIS form with a healthcare provider signature
- A physical copy of the CIS form with accompanying medical immunization records from a healthcare provider verified and signed by school staff
- A CIS printed from MyIR

For those that meet the eligibility requirements:
- $30 guaranteed plan download speed of 100 Mbps
- 20 providers to choose from
- New or existing internet plans
- Three ways to qualify
Click here to apply and for further details about the federal program.
FAQs
If I am approved for ACP and currently on an internet service plan with a provider, can I switch to a different internet service plan of that provider, including to that provider’s low-cost plan, and receive the ACP benefit?
- Yes. The ACP benefit can be applied to any internet service offering, and providers cannot restrict you from switching service offerings or subject you to mandatory waiting periods. Sometimes providers prohibit existing customers from switching to low-cost internet service plans; however, consumers receiving the ACP benefit are not subject to these “existing customer” restrictions.
What happens if my provider has eligibility requirements for an internet service plan that conflict with ACP rules? (e.g. My provider requires that I pay off my past debts before signing up for XYZ internet service plan)
- ACP rules override the rules of participating providers in the context of an ACP consumer. For instance, a provider may generally require that consumers pay off past or present debts before signing up for XYZ internet service plan. However, consumers who are approved to receive ACP benefits are not subject to that requirement (since the ACP rules prohibit providers from declining to enroll ACP consumers based on past or present debts).
Note: The ACP rules clearly allow ACP consumers to apply their benefit to any internet service offering that is generally available (i.e. not a grandfathered/legacy plan) and prohibit mandatory waiting periods (47 CFR 54.1808(e)(6)(iii)) and restrictions on switching plans (Para. 166 of the Report and Order).

Did you order Spirit Wear?
Thank you to families who ordered Spirit Wear – we love your school spirit! For families who requested their Spirit Wear orders be sent to the school, we regret that we are not able to do school delivery this year. These orders should be available for pick-up at the Streamline building at 1910 Bickford Ave. Suite H, Snohomish. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes! To fix this problem for the future, Streamline will be removing the ‘deliver to school’ option. If you have questions about your order, please contact Streamline at 360-243-3949 or veronica@streamline-llc.net.
