Welcome to Bryant Elementary!
Dear Trailblazer Families,
I can't believe we are more than half way through the first nine weeks. It has been one amazing journey thus far. You can see your child's progress and growth in Skyward for grades 2nd-5th. If you ever have any questions in regards to your child's academic progress, please do not hesitate to reach out to their teacher. Communication between parents and teachers is one of our top priorities. Our teachers will be reaching out soon to schedule a Parent Teacher Conference with you.
Next week is Prosper High School Homecoming. I have included our dress up days below. Mr. Dunnington and I are excited to be riding in the parade next Wednesday. We sure hope to see our Bryant families.
Have a great weekend,
Kim Newman, Principal
Meet our Music Teacher
My name is Mariah Hancock. I am so excited to be joining Prosper ISD as your music teacher here at Bryant Elementary.
I have been involved in music ever since I was in 3rd grade and just never got enough of it I went to college at Texas A&M University -Commerce and got my degree in music education with a vocal emphasis in 2007. I met my husband a few years before graduating and we've been married for 13 years. I started teaching music in Lake Dallas ISD before moving on to Richardson ISD, where my husband and my family lived until 2020. In May of 2020, we sold our home in Richardson and moved to Prosper (my Aunt likes to call it Oklahoma!). I feel so lucky to have found our home and to have moved out here during the pandemic. Last year I taught for Little Elm ISD at Oak Point Elementary before finding out there was a brand new school opening up right down the street from my home!
I have 3 sweet kids - Keegan (8), Levi (5), and Madeline (4). The oldest are here with me at Bryant and they are loving school! My youngest is just down the road at Ivy Kids and she can't wait to join her sister and brother at big kid school!
I love what I do and I hope that my passion and excitement for music carries over to the kiddos and into the school atmosphere. I feel so strongly about kids being able to create, to move, to sing, and to play and I truly don't know where I'd be if I didn't have music in my life. Music expresses emotions where words cannot.
I cannot wait to see where this year takes the Bryant Trailblazers and look forward to working with the kiddos!
Go Trailblazers!!

Lunch Sign Up
Please use the sign up genius link to pick a day to come have lunch with your child. You will need to bring a blanket or chairs because we don't have any picnic tables yet. In the event of rain, it will be up to you if you would like to come or not. Please come to the front office for check in and then bring your child back to the front office when you are done eating. Please do not sign up more than twice for each child to allow all families to have the opportunity. If you have not had your ID scanned this year, feel free to stop by before your lunch date so that we can have a badge ready for you.

“Help Your Child to Be Seen”
Children, especially young children, do not always have those specific language skills to express how they’re feeling when it matters the most. Research has shown that when people express their feelings, it improves their psychological and physical well being. Building a strong emotional relationship with children gives them those skills that will help them later on in life. Here are three simple questions to help your child feel seen and understood:
