Recognizing Excellence
The application period for the AISLE Polestar, Innovative Programming, and Administrator of the Year Awards is now open! More information about the awards can be found at www.aisled.org.
The Polestar Award is given to honor members of AISLE who have made outstanding contributions to school library media programs in Illinois. More information can be found at: https://www.aisled.org/polestar.htm.
The Innovative Programming Award is given annually to recognize a school library’s achievement in planning and implementing an innovative or creative event or service which has made a measurable positive impact on its users. More information can be found at: https://www.aisled.org/innovative-school-library-program-award.htm.
The Administrator of the Year Award is given to recognize the support of a school library program by a building or district level school administrator during the previous school calendar year. More information can be found at: https://www.aisled.org/administrator.htm.

The IDEA team has been hard at work throughout this winter and spring season curating some phenomenal content for your summer learning pleasure. We are excited to announce three learning pathways have been added to our summer series. Why now? Well, we have been listening to YOU, the teachers in the classrooms who are shouldering the weight of the world. We have heard you loud and clear. You are looking forward to some R & R and are also searching once again for your why. It is with that in mind that we’ve created three different professional learning options:

GOT NEWS? ADVOCATE SUBMISSION DEADLINE 7/15
The next AISLE Advocate newsletter deadline is July 15, 2022. Members are encouraged to submit articles or member news items to newsletter@aisled.org. The types of articles appropriate for the newsletter range from short features, how-to’s, or practical advice to long-form features or case studies. Compelling personal stories and opinion pieces are welcome along with real-world experience, analysis or research. AISLE members seek content that is useful and relevant. Submissions should offer value in the form of information, ideas, best practices, tips, advice, or resources. Please include any figures, pictures, or images needed to accompany your article. It is expected that you will cite sources and include references as needed.
Member news items might include retirements, promotions, or staff changes. What projects are you working on? What’s new in your library? What are your students going crazy for? Let’s keep our membership in touch with each other. Selected responses will be published.
